Terms & Conditions

Last updated: February 2026

Welcome to The Mobile Pitstop. These Terms & Conditions govern the provision of mobile mechanic services, repairs, and diagnostics provided by us to you (the Customer). By booking an appointment or requesting an emergency call-out, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. About Us The Mobile Pitstop provides mobile vehicle repairs, diagnostics, and servicing directly at your location (home, workplace, or roadside).

  • Service Area: Essex (including Southend-on-Sea, Basildon, and surrounding areas).

2. Bookings and Call-Outs

  • Emergency Call-Outs: When you request an emergency call-out, a standard call-out fee applies. This fee covers our travel time, fuel, and initial diagnostic assessment at your location.

  • The Call-Out Fee: This fee is payable even if the vehicle cannot be repaired roadside, if you decide not to proceed with the recommended repairs, or if the fault is misdescribed by you prior to our arrival.

  • Safe Working Environment: We require a safe, flat, and legally permissible area to work on your vehicle. We reserve the right to refuse service if the location is deemed unsafe (e.g., busy motorway hard shoulders without proper clearance, steep inclines, or soft ground).

3. Pricing and Estimates

  • Honest Pricing: Before any major repair work commences, we will provide a verbal or written estimate for the cost of parts and labour.

  • Unforeseen Issues: Cars can be unpredictable. If, during the repair, we discover further damage or issues that require additional parts or labour, we will stop work and inform you immediately. We will not proceed with extra costs without your explicit consent.

4. Payments

  • Payment on Completion: Payment is due strictly upon completion of the work, on the same day, before the mechanic leaves your location.

  • Accepted Methods: We accept cash, credit/debit cards, and instant bank transfers.

  • Ownership of Parts: All parts supplied and fitted by The Mobile Pitstop remain our property until the invoice is paid in full. We reserve the right to remove un-paid parts from the vehicle.

5. Parts and Warranty

  • Supplied Parts: We use high-quality, OEM or equivalent aftermarket parts. Parts supplied and fitted by us come with a standard manufacturer’s warranty (typically 12 months).

  • Customer-Supplied Parts: If you ask us to fit parts you have purchased yourself, we will charge for labour only. However, we offer zero warranty on customer-supplied parts. If the part fails or is incorrect, you will still be charged for the labour, and any subsequent visits to fix the issue will incur additional charges.

6. Cancellations

  • Standard Bookings: If you need to cancel or reschedule a standard booking, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice.

  • Emergency Call-Outs: Once a mechanic has been dispatched to your location for an emergency call-out, cancellations will still incur the standard call-out fee to cover our dispatch costs.

7. Limitation of Liability To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Mobile Pitstop shall not be liable for:

  • Pre-existing Damage: Any pre-existing damage to your vehicle, including rust, seized bolts, or fragile plastic trims that may break during the normal course of repair.

  • Loss of Earnings/Use: Any loss of income, alternative travel costs, or inconvenience caused by your vehicle being off the road.

  • Data Loss: Loss of radio codes, dashboard settings, or ECU data when batteries are disconnected. Please ensure you have your radio codes available.

8. Governing Law These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the UK courts.
